I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Font settings don't save unless application is run as administrator

When I run the application normally and change the font, it doesn't save for the next session. I have to run the application as an administrator, change the font, and then run it normally. Make the settings not dependent on running the application as an administrator.

    • have the back button return to the expanded view of the decompiled code

Currently, when you click on a method to view it, and then click back, it returns with the method you were in collapsed.. very frustrating!

Thank you for the suggestion, Jason. We have an option to change the text colors which is located in the Tools→Settings menu. The dialog window with the settings looks like that: http://screencast.com/t/PwtudiV9. Please give it a try and let us know whether it works for you as expected.

You’re right about the rest of the settings, though, so I’ll reopen the feature request.

          Best regards,
          Vladi

        • Add command line arguments to jump to a particular item

          Similar to this request:

          http://justdecompile.uservoice.com/forums/113277-justdecompile-feature-suggestions/suggestions/1781095-add-command-line-support

What I propose is a feature in which a particular namespace, type, or member can be jumped to from the command line after loading an assembly.

          For example:

          justdecompile.exe mscorlib.dll System.Text.Encoding

I would also like to see something like a --newtab option, which would first look for an existing instance of JD and, if one exists, open a new tab to that particular type.

My primary use-case for this feature is for integrating JD into the workflow of other tools. I would like to be able to jump from an issue in a static analysis…

          • A critical problem (LowerCase UpperCase conversions)

When decompiling consider culture specific details like in Turkish when you convert a word lowercase i.e. Item it is converted as ıtem i.s.o. item. So when using LowerCase or UpperCase use InvariantCulture.

            • Add missing attibutes on method returns

The decompiled code is missing the attributes on the return value of methods.

              • rename Platform Architect to Platform target and later to target framework. Becuase right now it creates the confusion with Visual Studio

Rename Platform Architect to Platform Target and later to Target Framework. Because right now it creates the confusion with Visual Studio namings of these things

                  • binding redirection if a specific assembly dependency is not found.

I have an assembly that references an older version that I don't have. It references an older version of F#. Is it possible to let the disassemble use a form of binding redirection for the types?

                    • make the search window dockable

The search window should be dockable.

This would allow more seamless review of multiple search results, as an example.

                        • Open JD from source code context menu

I often want to see the way a specific method is implemented internally. What I want is the ability to right click a method on code and in the context menu have a "Open with JD" command that will open JD and show me the implementation of what I right clicked on.

on .NET reflector it has been implemented and I use it all the time

                          • View IL and Source at the same time.

I am using the IL code view more but to help quickly track down areas in the code would it be possible to put the line or block of source code that the IL code represents into the same view?

It would be a view that combine the VB/C# and IL into the same view. It would look a little like Visual Studio's Disassembly view.

                            • Use dnlib instead of mono.cecil

Use the dnlib by 0x4d4 for decompiling.
Mono.cecil have issues with obfuscated files.

Currently when clicking on some nodes, the content of that node is displayed, but in most cases the display window is empty. The contents of the node should always be displayed in the display window

                                • Export classes and namespaces to a C# source file.

JustDecompile should be able to export classes and/or namespaces to source code files. If we can reflect a.NET assembly, open Visual Studio and copy and paste the code, why not just make it easier and make it able to export portions of the assembly?

                                  • Method Browser in editor

In the editor, have a option to select method than in tree view only. In editor, display class in top left combo box and method names in top right combo box. Something similar to VS IDE.

                                    • Make the default code font Consolas 10pt

Consolas is much easier on the eyes, particularly when going back and forth from Visual Studio.

                                      • USE SYSTEM FONT SMOOTHING

You are using font smooting. I don't like it. You should use system smooting settings.

Holy cheeseballs guys, this is what one might regard as "surprising". Line numbers are correct when collapsing/expanding (which is probably the hard part, right?)
