Welcome to the Telerik JustDecompile feature suggestion forum. Please vote or submit a feature suggestion. If it is not a product feature request it might be moderated.

Please note this tool is helping Telerik plan ideas and understand how developers use JustDecompile. It may not always represent the actual priority list for the product team.

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Does not properly handle equality operator

    The decompiler does not properly decompile == operators in C# code. Here's a snippet
    public class Myclass
    {
    public bool Equals ( MyClass other )
    {
    if (other == null)
    return false;
    }
    }

    That code converts to the following generated call.

    call bool ConsoleApp1.MyClass::op_Equality(MyClass, MyClass)

    But the decompile shows this.

    if (other != null)
    ...

    • Allow for searching usages of a DLL among a list of DLLs (Dependency Search)

      We have hundreds of dll's that have complex relationships with each other. It would be great to be able to search an entire assembly list to see which if any listed dll's use a searched for assembly name.

      • more intelligent locating of .NET Core references

        Browsing .NET Core assemblies requires lots of effort to locate the proper assembly, but most of them are located under the common cache folder C:\Users\%Current%\.nuget\packages\. Can our next version enhance on this feature? Using 2017.3.1005.3

        • Dropdown list for all class members like in Visual Studio

          In VS, there is a dropdown at the top right of the code editor window where I can pick from all the properties, methods and events of the class I am editing. I'd rather look at a summary of all members than on just a wall of code. Someone else had this idea and posted it, but that was four years ago and a Telerik Admin said it "should be improved in JD’s latest version 2013.2.613.0". But this feature is still not available.

          • Option to remove Shell-integration - opening files with JustDecompile

            Hello there!
            I launch JustDecompile 1-2 times a year. I hate new trend: Nowadays, every single app adds its shell integration to windows explorer context menu without an option to disable it. Why don't you think about your users, allowing them to choose, whether they really need for shell integration or not. Please add option to disable shell integration.

            • Ability to search a resource table for a string

              sometimes we need to look at the resource table of third party dlls. If the table is large finding a string is difficult. With search for resource string we can find the string we need. This is important in translating error messages from the third party dll into a format that is easily understood by our users.

              • Decompile methods that use the await keyword

                Currently, it is impossible to see the code a call to a method that calls await. It appears the compiler is dynamically generating a method that holds the code that follows the await. Unfortunately, JustDecompile just hangs when you click on the method name in order to see the generated method.

                    That's stupidly annoying, please just give us an option to disable checking for updates ESPECIALLY if you're going to make us log in with Telerik to download or some nonsense.

                            Either allow one to click on the search item in the Search window without the dialog disappearing, or have an arrow button and hotkey that lets you advance to the next or previous line or file in the search results.

                              • Please add support for .NET 4.7 Framework assemblies

                                The .NET Framework 4.7 has been released for more than a month, so it's becoming more common and not just a nice to have feature to have JustDecompile support for .NET Framework 4.7.

                                For more information, please refer to this official blog entry of .NET 4.7 launch: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dotnet/2017/05/02/announcing-the-net-framework-4-7-general-availability/

                                    Exporting to project doesn't work correctly for assemblies with target framework Xamarin, for example: [assembly: TargetFramework("Xamarin.Mac,Version=v2.0", FrameworkDisplayName="")]
                                    Instead .NET Framework 4.0 is selected.

                                      Although it does work somewhat, it doesn't work entirely properly. I did a search for a property name. it does find it as a property definition and as a string, but it doesn't find uses of it in the code blocks (i.e. a user property named Email doesn't find user.email well)

                                      • enhance search filtration

                                        The combined Search interface is good, but the search filtration system is a bit cumbersome. In general I think one knows whether one is searching for a type/member/property/namespace/method/string etc, and the super-advanced combination filtration system is probably overkill.

                                        I suggest adding a system to allow one to quickly identify the scope of the search within the search box, when the advanced filtration system is more than is needed. Some examples:

                                        type:guid
                                        method:execute
                                        property:isempty
                                        namespace:search.dictionary
                                        member:potato <- searches properties, fields and methods
                                        class:monkey <- only types that are classes
                                        struct:flapjack <- only types that are structs
                                        enum:pancake <- I think you…

                                        • Check for updates in a background thread

                                          It's really annoying to have the update-checker freezing the UI every time you open the application.
                                          If I have to open it several times I get interrupted every time for a few seconds.
                                          Can't that be done in the background and maybe display a toast instead of a modal dialog?
                                          It's not like everyone wants to update everything right after an update is available.
