  1. A critical problem (LowerCase UpperCase conversions)

    When decompiling consider culture specific details like in Turkish when you convert a word lowercase i.e. Item it is converted as ıtem i.s.o. item. So when using LowerCase or UpperCase use InvariantCulture.

      The decompiled code is missing the attributes on the return value of methods.

      • binding redirection if a specific assembly dependency is not found.

        I have an assembly that references an older version that I don't have. It references an older version of F#. Is it possible to let the disassemble use a form of binding redirection for the types?

        • show correct line numbers regardless of whether XML comments are shown or hidden

          Holy cheeseballs guys, this is what one might regard as "surprising". Line numbers are correct when collapsing/expanding (which is probably the hard part, right?)

            The "Create project" menu is disabled for WinRT DLLs. It would be great to be able to create even a non-compiling project.

            • on interface decompile shouldn't fold get/set properties

              On interface definitions initial display has property getter/setter folded closed. These should preferably be on same line (string Username { private get; set } :). Currently they are behind extra unneeded click as folded items.

              • Improve assembly resolution for Windows Phone/Windows 8 dlls

                When disassembling dlls from my Windows Phone 8 projects I get every time dialog for providing path of mscorlib.dll and other really common libraries.
                Paths to these libraries should be already included in the app so I don't have to close/find it every time I use the app.

                • Optionally output metadata tokens in decompiled output

                  I often work with heavily obfuscated .NET assemblies and have a need to use the .NET reflection API to invoke specific methods in a malicious .NET sample. When dealing with members that have randomly generated Unicode strings, it is very difficult to reference those members by name. It is however, easy to reference them by metadata token using System.Reflection.Module.ResolveXXX().

                  I would love to have the option to print metadata tokens (primarily for methods) in the decompiled and disassembled output. At the moment, I have to accomplish this with JustDecompile and Ildasm open at the same time.

                  Thanks!

                      • decompile vb.net case sensitive

                        When decompiling to VB.NET it is very common to find Properties with the same name as the underlying private field. This is common in C# code to use the same name with a slightly different case, such as "Public Property BorderStyle as BorderStyles" and "Private borderStyle as BorderStyles". This format does not work in VB though because the property and variable are the same name (not case sensitive compiler). I would suggest checking for duplicate members and prefixing the "private" members with a global replace to have a leading underscore (this is a common syntax in VB code)

                        • html / rtf copy paste support

                          When allowing a copy-paste from decompiled code, can you provide option like "Copy as HTML" & "Copy as RTF"
                          So that I should be able to paste code in outlook with all the color coding. Makes code more legible.

                            Allow searching strings in decompiled xaml files.

                            For example:

                            <Style x:Key="Header1" TargetType="{x:Type TextBlock}">
                            <Setter Property="TextBlock.Foreground" Value="#FF888888"/>
                            <Setter Property="TextBlock.FontSize" Value="50"/>
                            <Setter Property="TextBlock.FontFamily" Value="../Resources/Fonts/#Source Sans Pro"/>
                            <Setter Property="TextBlock.FontWeight" Value="Light"/>
                            <Setter Property="FrameworkElement.Height" Value="66"/>
                            </Style>

                            There should be possibility to find Header1 string in assembly

                                there are some exe or dll that have been compiled and scramble by ConfusedByAttribute module, and the the result of decompile is very hard to understand. so it will be good if JustDecompile also add this feature to it. Thank You

                                      Both choices for "Replace invalid characters in identifiers" produce incorrect results. The C# standard defines a way for identifiers to contain arbitrary characters or keywords here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa664670(v=vs.71).aspx

                                      private static Dictionary<string, int> u003cu003ef__switchu0024map17;
                                      The same line without that setting:
                                      private static Dictionary<string, int> <>f__switch$map17;

                                      An example of correct output (produced by dotPeek):
                                      private static Dictionary<string, int> \u003C\u003Ef__switch\u0024map17;

                                      For the correct output, binaries generated by the C# compiler will have the same identifier names…

                                        Please add support for compiled .net modules (like IL DASM) and add default extension for this type of files (".netmodule") in open file dialog.
